Howden's creative boost for charity

Howden gets creative to boost support for Play to the Crowd

We're thrilled to share some wonderful news here at Play to the Crowd! Our long-standing Corporate Partner, Howden Insurance, is taking their support for us to the next level with a new donation initiative tied to their insurance policies.

This means every time someone buys or renews a policy with Howden and mentions us, our charity will receive a generous £25 donation. How fantastic is that?

Howden's generosity in action

Based in Winchester, Howden Insurance has committed to donating £25 to Play to the Crowd for each car, home, van, or business insurance policy sold or renewed – all customers have to do is quote Play to the Crowd when making their purchase.

We're so grateful to Howden for finding such a creative way to support the arts and the local community through their everyday business.

This partnership is the latest chapter in a long and valued relationship with Howden (formerly A-Plan). Earlier this year, Howden renewed their commitment to us for another three years, focusing on supporting our Playmakers Youth Theatre – a project that gives school-aged children the chance to build confidence, learn theatre skills, and create their own original work.

Businesses supporting the arts in challenging times

Our Fundraising Manager, Becca Moore, couldn't be more excited about this initiative. "We're over the moon that Howden has found such a creative way to support us, while also giving their customers an easy way to contribute to the arts in Winchester. It’s such a fantastic example of how local businesses can make a real difference, especially in times like these when it can feel tough to keep supporting the causes we all care about."

Ian Tuffrey, Branch Manager at Howden Winchester, said: “We're proud to work closely with Play to the Crowd, and support the team – their work ensures theatre, and the arts can thrive in Winchester. At Howden, we take great pride in acting as a force for good in the communities we serve, and supporting the local causes that matter to them. We look forward to seeing the charity’s work grow even further over the years to come, and seeing all the fantastic performances and talent our city has to offer!”

We're so grateful for Howden’s continued support, and we hope this inspires other businesses to think about ways they can get involved too.

Howden is part of a growing group of local businesses who are making a big impact on what we do. The Wykeham Arms, for example, donates 25p to us for every sale of their famous Wyk Pie – a simple but hugely appreciated gesture that helps us continue our work bringing arts and education to Winchester.

Let's work together

We'd love to hear from other local businesses who might want to partner with us in creative ways, just like Howden has done. If you're interested in teaming up to support Play to the Crowd, our Fundraising Manager, Becca Moore, would love to chat with you. Just pop Becca and email at becca@playtothecrowd.co.uk
