Hat Fair 2020 preview for local businesses
On Wednesday 4 March we held a special event for local businesses to learn how they can support this year’s Hat Fair, which runs from Friday 03 – Sunday 05 July.
The Hat Fair 2020 Festival Preview was an opportunity to showcase the wide range of performances expected at this summer’s festival – from dance to circus, theatre to song – and talk about the many ways in which businesses can get involved.
From acting as brochure pick-up points, to encouraging staff to volunteer; to becoming corporate supporters or In Crowd card scheme venues, which give Play to the Crowd Members, offers.
Hat Fair – now in its 46th year – relies on public funding support from Arts Council England and Winchester City Council, to make it happen. But it requires further donations from individuals and companies each year, to help it continue to entertain the thousands who attend. Last year Hat Fair celebrated a record-breaking 90,000 attendances.
The event – with introductions from Hat Fair Director, Andrew Loretto, and Fundraising Manager, Becca Moore – highlighted how Hat Fair is vital to the city’s economy and a prime opportunity for local businesses to stand out.
There are lots of ways businesses can support the festival and Becca is happy to discuss these options, and provide more information. She can be reached at becca@playtothecrowd.co.uk or by calling 01962 673746.
Hat Fair will take place across the city centre on the Friday and Saturday and at North Walls Recreation Ground on Sunday.
Special thanks go to The Chesil Rectory for hosting the event.
