A Marathon and a Half

Our Chief Executive, Deryck Newland is running, not one – but two races - to raise money for Play to the Crowd this Autumn.

Deryck will be running the Winchester Half Marathon on Sunday 19 September as well as The Clarendon Marathon - from Salisbury to Winchester - on Sunday 3 October. Having taken on The Clarendon Marathon in 2007, he is determined to beat his time… and hopefully having Winchester at the end of the race will spur him on to reach the theatre for a well-earned drink!

Over the last eighteen months, support from our community has been fantastic and we are so grateful to everyone who donated to our Survival Appeal, came to Hat Fair, have booked tickets to Theatre Royal Winchester and participated in some way with Playmakers.

However, we still need to raise money so we can continue to provide brilliant live performance and participation and Delight and Unite our communities. We exist for you. Together we can keep live performance alive!

We're not sure we should use the phrase ‘Break a Leg’ in this instance so ‘Best of Luck’ to you Deryck!
