Aladdin’s Support Cast begin rehearsals!

On Sunday 7 November, the Support Cast for Play to the Crowd’s Christmas panto at Theatre Royal Winchester, Aladdin, began rehearsals.

The Support Cast, all aged 16 or over, are local performers looking for experience within the performing arts industry. They auditioned back in August in front of Aladdin Writer and Director, James Barry, Choreographer Sam Taylor-Martin and Play to the Crowd’s Young People’s Producer, Liam Gifford. The creative team were looking for young people who had previous dance experience, as well as a keen interest in acting and singing.

The Support Cast audition process was a huge success, and the team were thrilled to cast two strong and talented groups to perform in Aladdin in alternate performances this year.

We’re thrilled to announce our Support Cast as follows:

Green team

André Dance
Ellie Eades
Emily Henson
Lily Cardigan
Maria Webb
Nina Miller

Orange team

Ellie Eades
Joanne Hosmer
Matt Millen
Olivia Day
Tegan Gailor
William Eamer

The Support Cast will join a Principal Cast of seven, including returning favourites Julian Eardley as Widow Twankey, Ed Thorpe as Wishee Washee, and Libby Gore in the title role, Aladdin.

Rehearsals with the Support Cast continue throughout November, with Principal Cast joining week commencing Monday 22 November.

Aladdin opens on Sat 4 December at Theatre Royal Winchester.
